Well there are plenty of choices, I wouldn't recommend VB6 for Such MMORPGs that require Fast proccessing. VB6 is a good choice for other things. However things i do recommend are: C++/Qt(C++ can be easy to understand if you learn it in a method that you find intrests you, Qt makes C++ code portable...

I suppose you would have us all learn FreeBasic , right fanboy? ROFLMAO!!! Let's all learn Fortran77! FORTRAN77 FTW! LOL! Wrong actually, .NET has an Overly complex nature wich can scare off all of the Newbies wich we all love(or hate).

You can't use Mirage with Visual Basic 2008, It's Visual Basic .NET, wich is In-compatible with VisualBasic 6.0.
The Convertor Fails horridly so it is impossible to use it with that. Just Pirate a copy of VB6 or find one on Ebay or something.

Visual Studio or Dev C++.

Visual Studio is the Best, Dev C++ is the Simplest and Codeblocks is just a Pain in the ass, even though i use it.

I vote either Whitespace or Brainfuck. I'd say port it to Ook! since any monkey can understand it. ;D Also in my opinion i'd stay away from .NET and Mono especially. I dont like Relying on a Framework for my Applications. (Except SDL since SDL is ftw) Really, FreeBASIC is way faster than .NET ;) (a...

It's Fast, Compiles natively and runs on Windows, DOS and Linux(x86) Plus you can use ANY C/C++ Library by Translating the header files. FreeBASIC comes with FMOD, OpenGL a...
