I doubt the source is any alike :) If you have both ... |

Is this OS specific? On two XP SP2 boxes, there is no entry point found in that DLL. |

Well, at the least, this is a request for a tutorial on how to swap out the Dx7 engine with a DX8 rendering engine. So at the least, you could just put up a Tutorial .. or even Spodi could :) Others could pitch in with corrections and support, and what-not. Any how, I guess this thread need to be cl... |

Since this is a tutorial request for DX8, and you have already done the conversion for your MS project. Why not create the tutorial? |

You both are right. Creating a DLL wrapper for DX9, to be called from VB, was what I was working on at one point using PB. But yeah, it's better to just learn another language.
But what's the point? To have the benefits of DX9, and soon 10, in VB6. |

The other game is the original Mirage Online And yes, I'm applying this tutorial to the sucker as the code between MO 3.0.4 and MS are fairly similar at this stage |

I've been working on my game since 1992 (and yes it's been on paper since then, a high school/softmore class project). But it's not MS, so I can't vote. |

I took them down. I specifically asked Williams when I sold MS to him, if he wanted the backup forums. He didnt want them at all because most of the tutorials were already transferred here. So I didn't bother saving that database when I moved the domain. The PW domains are down because I got fed up ... |

Because, longs are 32-bit numbers in VB6, while Integers are 16-bit. Since most processors now days are 32-bit, they can handle Longs much faster then integers.
However, if your running a 64-bit processor, then Quads are faster then Longs. Unfortunately, VB6 have no 64-bit integers ... |
