Thanks for all the reply's guys :) Honestly I am between Java and VB.net. I am looking to hire someone to do the programming but I'd like to be able to know whats going on and work with the GUI which I can do in VB but Java. Thanks for the replies. I was mainly wondering because I was looking to hire someone to make an engine to support the criteria I had listed. Putting aside the logistics of pulling a project of this type off..... What would be the best language for supporting a 200-400 playerbase in a 2d game but with a good amount of particle effects? As well what sort of common languages ( variations of C, etc) could be cross platform? Thanks in advance... |

Hmm does vbGORE support DX8? If not is it a pain to convert mirage to DX8? If it is I don't know if I'd rather spend the time/money to convert mirage to DX8 because i hate vbGOREs map editor |

No that screen shot is not an actual in-game, I should have said so if that was unclear right now I have no idea what I'm going to use for a base source, but if what my mock-up is showing isn't possiable how can I make it so it would work in a mirage or mirage spin off engine? |

I don't know could really think what to put for a menu button you click the center one it brings up the menu you see above it, click the one on the right hides the tool bar click the one on the left it hides the whole gui, im open for suggestions as to a better menu button |

well the menu closes so theres some space there but I see what your saying I changed the Hp and Mp bars and I like them alot more and I also I'm between two styles one takes less space and it looks nice but the other seems to match better any way opinions please.... style 1 http://img78.imageshack.u... |
