It's got that horribly GetDC code.

You could edit that to alpha blend, but it's sooo much quicker to do a D3D overlay.

oO' How do I express this in VB?

If it doesn't support transparency, how comes that with that night tutorial (with that blue bmp) creates a blue overlay instead of a completely blue screen?

lets see, if 255x255 = 2mg, then 30x30 maps are about 20kb. If you have a thousand maps (which i REALLY doubt you have) that will be 200mb. You probably only have 100-200 maps though, and I really wouldn't be worried. The 200mb is file space right? If it is, then 200mb is more than enough. If its b...

I_I' But in my moddirectX there's some method called DD_Backbuffer.drawbox and DD_backbuffer.setfillstyle ... Why don't they work? I put them into the Sub Night while commenting out the usual way of blitting the night tile... Then it doesn't do anything, even if that drawn box should be filled pure ...

So is there any way to do this without that night tile? Or how do I get a really clean animation betwe...

So you all mean I should invest in that bigger hosting package? The maps will overrun that 200 MB - limit for sure. Even if they're NOT 255x255 but 30x30 ...
But thanks for the serious opinions. :)

It is possible. When the maps are loaded from the hard drive all the map data is stored into memory. The only time the files are used is when saving and reloading a map with the changed data (When editing a map for example). All you would have to do is have the server load the map data from the ext...

Hi there,

is there any way to tell the server (software) to use maps that are located on another server (hardware)?

Let's say a game has 10 000 maps with 650 MB.
Will your server continue to run or will it crash?

To make a background would be the same, in theory, as adding a fringe layer per say. Instead, you would draw the layer UNDER the ground level instead of over top of it ;) that would give the background effect. Try that and see what you can figure out. And I guess I'll find the tutorial for this in ...

Hello,

well that's what I don't know how to do it:
The RPG-Maker showed quite a nice feature with backgrounds behind the actual maps, called panorama. There could be made good use of it if you make a high location and can look at an impressing sight! Still I'm unsure how to do it.. Help... please? :?
