Here's a website with two extensions of SDL

FastEvents and NET2, both based on SDL and expanded.

They work very well, I am using them in my MSC++ project.

ChrW acts on unicode characters. I am not certain that it would cause problems, though, as my computer has been set to Japanese for quite some time without issue.

a namespace is simply an identifier to say which one you want.

It's like an additional portion to the name of a function, class, type, whatever, that can be left off if it's understood what namespace it's in (by telling the compiler)

GDI is slow because it runs in software only. DD is faster because it takes advantage of hardware processing.

You're setting the label's caption to an integer value, not a string.

VB probably took care of that for you, but you might want to call the type conversion yourself just in case.

Got a Taco Bell, Burger King, McDonald's, Arby's, and Wendy's within one block from eachother.

Either Taco Bell or McDonald's for me. BK is disgusting, Arby's and Wendy's are vastly overpriced.
