This would definately have to be very controlled like who currently has the latest version of the source, etc.. There will be multiple version and what not.. Although, i love this idea, and i would definately join in on this, just for some fun.. :wink:

I definately love the simple concept of the guis.. It makes it feel more old school.. Which is awesome.. :wink: I would like to see an in-game gui.. Or layout.. :D

Mapping is alright for a beginner, but you could definately do with some work.. You probably want to have a look at some random photos of real life scenery.. This may help, i dont know.. Thats is actually fair decent.. Although i would just say move the legs closer together.. Dont have them so far apart.. If you do that it would look awesome.. :wink: Even though he is fat, most 2d sprites have fatish chubby looking characters.. :D

I prefer the 2nd lot of bars.. Although i dont like the setting out of the bars.. Putting the HP, MP, SP together is a good idea, but placing the exp bar there seems a tad out of place.. The actual gui itself looks awesome.. :wink:

I think grim wrote a really good tutorial for clicking, and i think theres also a good tutorial on npc name on hover.. Have you tried looking at those?

I've been doing some basic research on direct x.. using direct x 8 or direct 3d seems to be faster and seems to be able to do alphablending, particles, etc 'easier' than direct x 7 direct draw. Now, by saying 'easier' is a bad term to use, although i cant think of a good word to use at the moment.. ...
