Here is the new mse2, just the skin change and a few other things:
http://www.key2heaven.net/ms/mse2.rar

I take all the shit if nobody likes it, because I was the one behind it.

PS: Was a major release really necessary for this almost-nothing change? Why not MSE 1.1?

Hehe, that aint the finished mse2. Nobody should use this since there is not much done to it, it was to show the new gui, as the topic name stated ;) Just the skins have changed. You can follow the Development Log topic in this board.

I fear that you're already on the wrong track for MSE2. You should focus on the core features, stability, and usability. Making those inventory and spell menus floating doesn't really change anything, and now some people will have to take it out. Also, a new layout is really really unnecessary, as people have to change it before they use it... unless you're going to change that part of the license? :o

What I've done so far is just make ms more userfriendly. And I dont see what you dont like, nothing has slowed the speed down. Just made it so ms looks better. Whats really the problem? Afraid of change?

It just looks like your going the wrong way about it, you've not really made it any more user friendly, if you wanted to do that, you should have made a guide on how to actually use the engine, then they'd realize how easy it is.

You should be focusing on speed and stability, not a pretty Gui, that people are just going to remove anyway, I'd have thought it would be last on your list with a project like this.

Afraid of change? Lol.

I think it's better. With everything overlapping, it's hard to find your way around it. This seems to be a lot easier.

Thanks. And Cruel, if you havn't read the other topics, we are focusing on speed. But spending some time on a new gui isn't waste of time. And there will be a Guide to use it, check the Development Log Topic.

Yes i know, I'm just saying, that instead of making a Gui, you should probably be focusing on the speed part of things, a new Gui is not really important, it doesn't really help, and if you really wanted to make one, it should probably come last. :P

Since 90% of people who use MS (100% of what I've seen, but cant be sure) change the GUI anyhow, GUI change, at least one like you've done, should be last on the list of changes. Basic GUI, such as making a simple stand in for the current Mirage GUI is needed, but stop doing misc other GUI stuff. It's pointless if people just change it anyway.

That's my opinion. ;) This was a waste.

it seems a bit slower or is that just me. code a bit sloopy sloppy or how ever you spell it lol. its to dark don't like that you could have brightened it up a bit. also the map editor it would help speed things up if it was separate but that's my opinion. i would think that using shapes to make a life bar would be nice. all i have to say for know til then I'm keeping it shut lol.

It gives a better view of what ms is capable of. The old one was just to dark and focused towards a game. This one makes it more into a source.

A new GUI (Basic changes) that is uniform adn says Mirage Source would make it more into a source, but adding misc GUI annoyances isn't doing much.

I've said this before, i cant remember when but yeah.. I love the new gui..

But like Dave said, you put on the rule where the gui must be changed.. It would be easier to either one leave the gui as the original, still enforce the rule.. Or remove all traces of the gui.. well the graphical part anyway.. just leave it plain old vb..

But yeah.. I think screenshots would have been more sufficient.. Anyway, nice work on the gui mate..
