Do anybody know why the GameAI Timer has a interval of 0.5s?

If i remember correctly, the AI loops through every .5 seconds for the NPCs. Basically it runs through all of the stupid sub routines every half a second... and it uses a ton of loops. It's a really bad way of doing it though. That was the way it was coded at the time, and although it works, it's much slower than it should be. I haven't looked at the code in a while, but i'm fairly certain that it loops through WAY too many times.
