I know what you mean Asrrin. I experience the same problem every time I try to use the tutorial. It's strange though, because Perfekts game had scrolling, and it was fine.
What aren't you telling us?

Just got Mis's tut to work (still need to tinker with NPC/Player hp bars, but it's not a big concern) however the whole things lags to hell. I've even reduced the size of my maps, and the game loop just crawls. Can anyone by any chance lend me a hand to figure out what the cause is? I don't even know where to start. |

I have scrolling maps working well in my game. I get about 500 - 600 fps too. I used the same tutorial. |

Perfekt gave me a few things missing in the tutorial, I think I flubbed something up when doing it on my own, so I've reverted back to my last backup and will try it again. I'll let you guys know what I find. |

The only thing I have done to even touch the gameloop was a while ago. I've added Heal, Kill, and Fly tiles, and added extra fringe and animation layers. I've also changed the map sizes to 24x18 to make the game screen 800x600(ish). when I do get the client to compile it gets an FPS of 1, but that's only if I take out certain things, and even then the game is messing up the graphics. |

No, I wasn't planning on it either, the NPC's move around quite fine for my needs. I was thinking of giving them more combat options though, like spell casting and aggro, but I don't think that would be affected by maps. |

A Hate list that allows for people to catch the attention of an already engaged NPC. Otherwise it's no fun to have the fighter in the party beat up on a mob and have the mage get free wailing on it. Like in every other MMORPG. |

Ah. True Aggro. So if the mage hits it for more damage than the fighter, it will transfer targets. ^_^ Rohan has that. |
