i get a compile error variable not confirmed it highlightes this sub Quote: Private Sub Form_Load()
picSprites.Picture = LoadPicture(App.Path & "\sprites.bmp") End Sub i used the tutorial on this forum for this this error happens when i go on an empty chracter slot and click new chracter |

either picSprites doesn't exist, or picSprites.Picture doesn't exist? |

why do you load the entire sprite bitmap into a seperate picture box for that form? can't you just load the DX surface earlier and pull it off of that? ;--; |

Because thats how vanilla MS does it :\ I agree, its a terrible way to do it, but some people don't know better. Although teaching the wrong methods isn't always good either . |

I never said it was easier... Move the initDirectX code to be called up right when the EXE is run. Then you'll be able to use the DX surface just like you do in game, no matter what form you're on. |

It requires some understanding of VB and DirectX, I'm not sure how much you know, sometimes you just need baby steps. |
