Wow, four months or something.

Well, during that time I've still been developing.

Here's the latest screenshot:
Image

I've just nearly finished the spell system. Just adding a couple more basic spells such as damage over time.

Over the past few days I've written down 9 pages of formulae, items concepts, npc stats, class balancing calculations and I've created a battle simulation program which will help me balance out training.

The spell system looks awfully like Silverdale >_>. With the spell casting animations, cast time :P.

And i though WW wont have any advanced spell types as "damage over time" i think you said that in this topic :P.

It'll look similar until I get a chance to make my own.

I wasn't originally going to add advanced spells until I started the concepts of the classes.

Youre world is different... The spell system was Silverdales main feature :P.. And like only feature...it was one of my ideas for Silverdale.. and like 90% of the gameplay >_>.
Just think it doesnt fit into WW :P.

Its almost as i would have told belier to do the exact same Woodcutting feature to Silverdale.. >_>.

If he did that it'd be hardly copying. Tons of games have it. Same with the spell system.

Thats like saying.. "Tons of games have characters who can walk, why cant mine have it"

.. im pointing to the actuall "casting animation".. spell thingy and so on. It highly reminds of Silverdale.. meh do as you like.. Im not saying you cant use the spell system, i just think it makes WW look like Silverdale more and more.. and i though you yourself didnt want that.. since you said yourself it wont be anything like silverdale.

Its the basic ideas i had which made my games good and unique.. You do as you want.

You really do confuse me.. One minute you're telling me the game is good and the next you're telling me it's too like Silverdale and you don't like it.

Casting animations, spell animations, casting time and cool down time are the RPG norm and have been for a while. SD + WW share the same basic principles but the systems are completely different.

It shows on the screenshot for some reason, but the first one, is for the little animal things that were possed to be in the game and such.

Server down. Re-working a couple of things then I'll re-release in a couple of days.

Huge thanks to those who played. Was a fun test and I now know what I need to work on before getting a more functional release out.

I was on, but kept gettin' booted for opening doors.

And then I told Robin..

"It's not rape if you yell surprise first."

He was like..

"Surprise."

And chased me around for about 5 minutes, tryna rape me. ;-;

Someone in game respawned a map and I got booted. So, I didn't login again. >.>

Yeah. Atm the server stops processing movement when a warp happens or something, but the client doesn't.

I need to make it so players can't move whilst something like that is happening, then you wont get kicked.

-sigh- It would be you, wouldn't it xD

It'll be fine once I remove all the Dx8 code from the source. Need to convert my music and sound system to something more suitable.

Besides, the test is over.

For anyone who missed the test, don't worry. You only missed a lot of running around through maps and cutting down a lot of trees.

Wait for the next version, which will have a small quest system for you to try out and some more advanced skills.

Here's a quick glimpse at the new GUI :P

Yes.

Obviously.

I mean, these things don't look different at all.
