STATS: Understanding
Strength: Determines how strong you are in doing melee damage.
Defense: Determines your defense against melee attacks.
Magika: Determines how powerful your spells are, gives additional bonuses to your spell. (EXAMPLE: heal gives +20 HP, with 20 Magika it gives +25 HP) This also gives more bonus damage with magical weapons.
Speed: This determines how much SP you have, it also determines how much is used when attacking/running.
Intelligence: This determines how much MP you have and how fast you regain it. It also determines your Magical Defense.
Vitality: Determines how much HP you have as well as how much you regain and how fast.
Agility: Determines your evasion and is vital for critical hit chance (along with speed only agility is more important)
Dexterity: Gives you bonus attack speed as well as additional damage with ranged weapons.This ALSO is used with Agility to determine critical hit chance.
SUB STATS
Sub stats can not be leveled. They are determined by your actual stats.
Melee Damage: Determined by your Strength and your weapons stats.
Physical Defense: Determined by your defense and your armor stats.
Magical Attack: Determined by your Magika and any MATK bonus on your weapon.
Magical Defense: Determined by your Intelligence and any MDEF bonus on your gear.
Evasion: Determined by a percentage of your agility.
Critical Hit Chance: Determined by a large amount of Agility and a small amount of dexterity.
Vital Bonus: Gives bonus to HP, MP and SP depending on your intelligence, Vitality and Speed. Also gives a slight exp bonus when in a party.
TRADE SKILLS
Barter: Gives you more money with sales made by player shop. Gives you discounts on items in shop.
