Yes, I did use your tutorials. I only saved some of them into jpeg, and then because on my other comp, I have vista and there are like 10 different options on how to save, but I've got it now. The next thing I have to do is the third sword tutorial, the best one, (in my opinion.) ~Braydok EDIT: Wtf? Photobucket changed the file type from .bmp to .jpg... Well, it looks the same... |

I like them... they need some shading though. Do you have the 'wear' actually affect what the item looks like (e.g., Square shield drops below 40% durability and it looks like the used square shield)? |

No, I haven't added that to my game, I'm just doing this to get better at pixelling. They look different? Hmm, I'll see if photobucket will let me change the format. Something without tutorials: Used Buckler:
New Buckler:
1/10? I think that thats a good idea to make it look used, maybe I'll try and add it. ~Braydok |

Bitmap is great because it's full-detail, but it's uncompressed. A good alternative is PNG, because it's lossless and compressed. |

PNG is still lossy, just not as much. |

You can't simply convert the file extension and have the lost color reappear. |

Right, but with PNG it's hardly noticible. |

Robin wrote: No, PNG is lossy. Just hardly noticeable. hm? just because its smaller it has t be lossy?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNG Quote: PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a bitmapped image format that employs lossless data compression.
... PNG uses a non-patented lossless data compression method known as deflation. |
