ok ive been messing with this border and i finally put a grunge thing in the middle, albeit it prolly sucks but tell me what i need to do to fix it. i plan on using this as the background for my game engine. or at least a varient of this.

ehh it not supposed to be black just dark, it looks fine on my screen but idk ill make it lighter give me a sec [Edit]Can its brighter now, but ill prolly change the green it doesnt go good with the background |

I upgraded to a 21" wide-screen LCD today, actually. It puts out more light than my lamp... hah. My poor eyes.  I can see the picture much more clearly, however.

ahh good you all can finally see it. i think ill change the green border right now. but hmmm to what? [EDIT] ok here we go i just went with the original border i made and i brightened up the center some. [Edit2] ok i lightened up the center for those of you who have dark screens for some strange reason lol jk [Edit3] ok for the third time i have brightened it, so now it is 80% brighter than the original. i also left the last one for those of you who have "extreme" bright settins like me, wont look at it and think it looks like crap cuz its so bright(its supposed to be dark)

I can see the second one just fine. Though, my monitor's brightness is as high as it can go. You know, for those particularly dark counterstrike maps |

ehh well if i go any lighter it will look all wacked up. so i guess all you can do is brighten your screen. sry. im trying to decide what style of buttons i want to put on it. |

Just a general tip, you should let your monitor auto-adjust before you make graphics. If it doesn't have an auto-adjust, put everything on 50%. Only people with really bright settings are gonna see that box. And not many people have their settings set so...extreme. |

The border is way too big. Make it a 4 pixel border...and make it red. |
