Mirage Source

Ok after the basic sketch (thanks for your feedback!) i have come up with this for the first chapter, group of islands with several things you will notice that are noted. The yellow areas are 'towns', the green areas are highlighted hunting grounds, main hunting areas if you like, with some side puzzles, quests, and other things (thus they are flagged for attention). The red areas are bosses, these beasts are going to be bloody hard and require insane team effort, why? Because they will drop Chapter I hectics of course! What is a chapter I hectic? Well, wow has epics, we have hectics lol. These are basically the best spell, armor, legs etc for each vocation; in chapter I. The idea with chapters is the game can be released by itself as chapter I as a big fully mapped world where you can run around and do some pretty insane quests etc, grab levels; hang out; wage wars, whatever. But, every summer or so the plan is to release a massive new chapter, so when you get to the entrance of chapter 2 you will be able to access new islands with all new quests, bosses and items, i imagine if the game was running a year
and chapter II got released some of the stuff in it would be pretty bloody strong considering you would have to defeat the boss to get there ^^!

I am planning to map every last inch, so you literally can spend hours running around the wilderness, you could follow the coastline if you wanted, that is my plan. No doubt it will take months and months of mapping, scripting quests, developing, and crying, but hopefully most of the programming me and grim have in mind should be done by christmas so in the long run it should be a steadily moving onward project.

Comments appreciated of course, unless they are negative, in which case i will cry.

Forgot to mention, i think naming places made up silly names is stupid and they should have some background to them. All of the names come from some part of my life, ms, my pets, stuff like that - see if you recognise anything ^^

I like it, only thing i find wierd is that the icy island is near the bottom and near the grassy island.. =/.. Pretty strange.

Anyway i like the design .

Hmm, logically speaking, anything lieing to the south or north would be frozen, so maybe move the ice island down a bit more. Then you have the grassy area above it (tropical forest area), and the desert like island above that (equator like conditions maybe, a desert makes sense).

All in all, nice map... gets the point across. As for landmarks... what sort of things are in your game? It looks like you've marked all the city's and points of interest, which is all a map really needs in my mind...

Nothing is mapped, its a clean surface, programming is hopefully done by christmas, my tiney mess around has turned into quite a massive thing >.<

Grim is doing 95% of the programming, once thats done; i should have a server pc (my parents are buying me a pc for my 18th lol, how sad is it that i am so broke its come to this >.>) and be able to start developing with the wonderfull tiles items and sprites that are all being made ^^

Well i think i am now going to give it a try, thanks for the ideas, bear in mind this is only a small part of the 'world' or so to speak, its chapter one, not a globe! ^^

Me doing items ^^ plz, i can also so help with the graphics if you like O_o. Im probibly closing down godborn, since lack of time of doing it.. and yea..

Well i have had very bery little time the last days or so.. so i havent done almost nothing.

Plus the end of the entire game has to be the final fight Between Vibe and i...or else it isnt real.
